Ahhhhh, winter in Morocco: Better prices on those beautiful riads, and a reprieve from the desert's usual scorching weather. Our favorite combo!

It's an ideal time to get lost in a souk, or meander a popular mosque sans tourist mob, but the most interesting cultural experiences are still a liiiittle further off the path.

If you book mid-January tickets, head down to the city of Agadir, or up into the villages of the Atlas Mountains. Amazigh New Year (when the indigenous Berber culture changes their calendar) happens on January 12th, and comes with feasts, dancing, and a rainbow of traditional garments.

So while you might leave home in 2027, you'll be returning in 2977 :-)
