Storm clouds rolled in over the harbor at Hanga Roa, and I almost turned back before sunrise even broke. Then the sky tore open — golden light pouring down in great shafts, straight onto the water, like something out of an old Rapa Nui myth. A fisherman balanced along the rigging lines, silhouetted in the glow, while two others worked quietly below, unfazed — just another morning for them. For me, it felt like the island was speaking.
One frame. That was all I needed. Easter Island gave me the moai and the volcanic craters, but this quiet moment of ordinary work under extraordinary light is the one that stays with me most :)
