Hey there, Travellers,
As you might imagine, it's pretty easy to fall down some wild rabbit holes while working at Jack's Flight Club. Not only do we spend far too much time looking at Google Flights, Skyscanner and the like, we have also honed the art of finding the weird and wonderful tips that tell you wonderful Travellers why you should book that Flight.
So today, I'm going to share my favourite deep-dives from the week:
- The world's only poop-fuelled funicular railway, Fribourg, Switzerland.
- Your new hack for smiling all the way through that Teams call - a second screen for watching brown bears fishing in Alaska.
- A paradise island renowned for witchcraft, Philippines.
- The US resort town that was swallowed by the sea - maybe not the best for inspiring your next trip, right enough...
- Via Transilvanica - a 1400 km walking trail across Romania, through 400 villages, past sparkling lakes and painted monasteries.
And with that, your weekend reading is sorted. If there are any deep dives you'd like us to take on your behalf, or questions you would like us to answer in The Detour, just let us know here.
Happy travels and safe landings,
Katy - Editor of The Detour
