Sapporo is kind of the cold-weather king of Japan.
Hit the slopes, go fox-spotting in Shiretoko National Park, then warm yourself in one of Hokkaido's many geothermal onsen baths. Don't forget to finish off your day with a couple brews - Sapporo is the craft beer king of Japan, too.
Oh, and aim for those February dates if you can. The annual Sapporo Snow Festival is undoubtedly the most fun way to freeze your butt off.
