Jack's readers love to request Japan, and we love to deliver! We usually only see prices like this for Tokyo, so it's stellar to see more options.
We've got a dash of Fukuoka (birthplace of tonkotsu – objectively the best type of broth, according to this ramen snob), followed by a smattering of Osaka (the "kitchen of Japan"). But Los Angeles is the clear winner here, with routes alllll over some more obscure parts of the country.
Not only can you hop over to that famous island jewel of Okinawa, but you can also check out its less famous but equally lovely neighbor Amami Ōshima. Looking for more of a city break? Try Kumamoto, on the island of Kyushu, to admire a castle and an active volcano.

Flights to regional Japan at about the same price as flights to Tokyo? We like – especially with just the one stop. Los Angeles is getting some nice treats here with even rarer cities.
