Lemur fans, listen up!

You may not have heard of the Comoros Islands unless you're an OG JFC member. If you aren't, we'd recommend reading El's experience travelling there - she was ready to book the first time we shared a deal and loved the untouched beaches and connecting with the people and nature there.

The country is one of the least visited in the world, but you may have smelled its plants already. A lot of plants used to produce French perfumes come from the Comoros Islands, and visitors write about how the aroma overwhelms your senses as soon as you land. Probably why they're nicknamed “The Perfumed Islands”.

BTW, it can be tricky to find accommodation (and Wi-Fi!) in the Comoros. Villa Saifoudine is recommended by many, the owners speak English and make one of the best breakfasts around. Laka Lodge is a good place to stay on Mohéli, they'll give you a tour and take you to swim with manta rays if you're brave enough.
