At the far east end of the Mediterranean, Cyprus is the old old world. Old enough that the ancient Greeks considered this island to be the origin of the goddess Aphrodite, believing that she rose up from the sea foam on the beach.

Seems like a pretty good tagline for Cyprus: "Beaches so nice, they birthed the goddess of beauty!" After all, who wouldn't want this to be the first thing they see on Earth?

While this story might be a myth, the impact it made is very real. You can visit the nearby temple constructed in her honor about 3,500 years ago, one of many ancient sites on the island.

Seattle, Boston, and NYC definitely win the biggest with these flights (Cyprus stays mild and sunny even in December) but you don't have to be escaping a long winter to enjoy a personal suite with a lie-flat seat and free-flowing champagne.

Sounds like a flight fit for Aphrodite herself :-)

P.S. New York just saw this route, but now it's got new dates, and is about $500 RT cheaper. That's a LOT of extra souvlaki you can buy now!
