Flying into Cancún offers options aplenty. Suuuuure, you could stay put and soak up the Caribbean sun within a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport. Or, you could venture to one of these spots for something a little different...
Head south on the mainland to the LA-style, palm-fringed beaches of Tulum. Sunbathe by day, party by night and shop 'til you drop along the street that'll give Rodeo Drive a run for its money. Head to Casa Cenote to give the friendly neighborhood croc, Panchito, a visit.
Or, you can go north and hop on a ferry to the island of Holbox. Without any cars, it's a more intimate setup, and the sea is a serious shade of blue. Walk out to the sandbar at low tide and spot some flamingos, if you're lucky!
For something a little closer, venture over to Isla Mujeres. The marine life is off the chart and the vibe is a lot more laid-back than the large resort hotels you can expect to find in Cancún.
No matter what direction you head, a stack of fresh tacos and a mezcal margarita are Mexico must-haves. This Jack's member knows what I'm talking about :-)

Premium-economy perks and short layovers? I love to see it.
