Been dreaming about trying kite surfing? Look no further than Paje, on the southern part of Zanzibar!
Some of our flight finders just got back from their trip to Tanzania, and can't stop raving about their kite surfing experience on the island—here's what they've learnt:
- You'll need at least four hours of classes to learn how to hold, lift, and control the kite before you can enter the water, so they suggest to book your session for at least six hours
- Semi-private beginner classes for two people start at around €200 per person
- The sun is always very strong, so you may want to schedule your classes in the early mornings and divide your hours between a couple of days
- The wind is always side onshore (the safest conditions for kitesurfing!), but the best months for beginners are from mid-June until mid-October and the end of December until mid-March
