Mozambique & the Seychelles
in £470s-£540s rtn
We didn't expect to see this on a random Tuesday...
Now, we get it. Mozambique might not be sitting at the top of your travel wishlist. And in that case, we'll point you in the direction of these equally cheap Seychelles fares—the beaches are just as pretty and, honestly, it'll likely be an easier trip.
But for the travel-obsessed adventurers who are working their way through the world country-by-country, this could be the chance to tick a biggie off your list. Just take it from Navigator Jo:
"I have been there a few times, it's amazing... Obviously, Maputo is the most popular and my recommendation is Machangulo, but Bazaruto coral reef is also incredible, and Ponta do Ouro (I had an awesome dolphin excursion here). The place with the best seafood (like shellfish right on the beach) is Xai-Xai."
So let's get into the deets. Mozambique isn't the place to rock up without plans. The UK Gov currently advises against travelling to the north due to ongoing security issues, and even in the south, you'll need to remain risk-aware. The good news? You can still visit safely if you stick to the main tourist spots and take a few sensible precautions.
For a start, visiting in October-November is your best bet for dry weather. Research the areas you'd like to visit, book your accom in advance, use vetted local guides and opt for taxis rather than walking at night. And, as for all travels, don't forget your comprehensive travel insurance!
