Getting from A to B in Vietnam couldn't be simpler; overnight sleeper trains run from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi (and back), meaning you can skip the hotel for a night and relax with some almighty views from your window.

Along the way, trek the valleys in Sapa and stop at Da Nang for the ultimate surf hangout. A stroll around the ancient town of Hội An is also a non-negotiable while you're in the area, and I still dream of my daily lunches at Nourish two years later. 

Once you reach the narrow streets of Hanoi, fuel up with a banh mi (or twelve) from this famous spot... seriously addictive.

If flights are more your thing, hop over to Phu Quoc for a touch of the Amalfi Coast, Vietnam-style — a little taste of Euro Summer kinda kills two birds with one stone. Vietnam? Completed it. Italy? We'll let you count it until the next time we send some cheap fares your way.
