Gibraltar at $483 RT

We love a funky, lesser-known destination. Today's pick: Gibraltar!

This is a UK territory on a peninsula in Mediterranean Spain, so it's a little Spanish, a little British, and totally unique. It's a charming seaside town to stroll, and comes with a side of wild monkeys (yes, monkeys) atop a dramatic rocky peak.

There isn't a ton to do in Gibraltar itself, but there's plenty to explore — starting with a day trip to another continent! A neighboring town hosts a 90-minute ferry all the way to Morocco, so you can buy your morning tea with British pounds, grab tapas for lunch with your euros, then feast on tagine for dinner for a few dirham. 

Prefer to stay Spain-side? Keep heading southwest along the Mediterranean coast. The town of Tarifa is only an hour from Gibraltar, and known for its seemingly endless perfect beaches. Even Cádiz in all its insanely-ancient glory is just a few hours away.
