Bring on the green season!
For most of the year, Botswana bathes under scorching blue skies until December hits and the heavens open.
But hold up, we know what you're thinking, how can rain be good? Well, here's all the reasons why the wet season is actually the best time to visit:
1) Although it might be easier to spot animals during the dry season, this coincides with the Northern Hemisphere's summer holidays. Unsurprisingly, this results in the parks being packed. Suddenly, it doesn't feel so special spotting wildlife when you're in a traffic jam of jeeps.
2) Fewer visitors = better rates on tours, but that's a no-brainer.
3) The landscapes become drenched under emerald green blankets of lush, leafy vegetation. For any photographers, this beats washed-out, dusty backdrops any day.
4) Prepare for cuteness overload because it also happens to be the birthing season. Try not to get too attached though, where there are heaps of helpless newborns, hungry predators are never too far away...
