Perched up in the hills, this iconic wooden sign gave the area its name. Seven white-painted letters, one word: WILLIWOOD.

What, you were expecting something else?

The people of Sint Willibrordus originally put up this parody of the Hollywood sign to draw attention to their little village. It totally worked, too—the sign brought in so many tourists that they officially changed the town's name to "Williwood" in 2011.

And Williwood is actually pretty cool! You probably won't spot Tom Cruise there, but there's a flamingo sanctuary, a 150-year-old church, and some pretty fabulous beaches to make up for the lack of A-listers.
