We best of our layover with a local Riesling

My mom had never been to Italy. So a few weeks ago we were wrapping up a trip to Venice, Florence, Tuscany, pusa and Milan. Our layover was Frankfurt but we couldn't get through customs! Line was backed up and people were missing flights. Our airline was great. They gave us a hotel room at the terminal and food vouchers. But since Mom had never been to Germany either, I took the opportunity to grab the next train to Mainz, where we strolled the old town, got a glimpse of the Rhine and made the best of our layover with a local Riesling!
