Didn’t really know what to expect in Bergamo as a lot of people just seem to use BGY to get to Milan. But what a cute and peaceful place! Amazing views from the upper town, but the lower town manages to feel modern yet authentic, with a genuine Italian feel to all the cafes and restaurants. Didn’t feel “touristy” at all in this bit. It was also well placed for train trips to a couple of different Italian Lakes so we made the most of it! (This was the view from a piazza in the lower town, towards the upper part of Bergamo)
