In the spirit of Halloween, please allow me to point you in the direction of the real life Spooky Island from the Scooby-Doo movie 

I'm not afraid to admit it, this is one of my favourite childhood movies of all time! And given the fact we're now in peak spooky season, this feels like perfect timing.

So its real name is Moreton Island, and it's super easy to reach from Brisbane with a 75-min ferry. And while it might be missing the rollercoasters and monsters from the film, this place has thrills everywhere you look.

From sand boarding to quad biking and even an eerie row of 15 scattered shipwrecks laying just off the coast!
