Ahh the Bahamas...

Some dream of the swimming pigs, others of those fancy over-water bungalows. Me, on the other hand? I haven't stopped thinking about its 202-metre deep sinkhole ever since I saw this video 2 years ago.

It's called Dean's Blue Hole, and it sits right on the shoreline of Long Island, just west of Clarence Town. Seriously, you don't even need to swim far to reach it. Just walk off the beach and WHAM, the sea floor drops away like a portal to another planet.

For any aquatic fanatics brave enough to take a dip, you can snorkel along the surface and be treated to a crystal clear view straight down into the abyss below.

Or, if you prefer to stay dry, just wait for low tide, and you'll be able to see the colours shift from shallow turquoise to deep midnight blue from the beach :-)
