Two times to visit Japan, two very different experiences!

Choose a spontaneous winter trip, and you can run straight for the slopes. Japan is dotted with tons of world class ski resorts, including one that hosted the 1998 Olympics. Grab something just a liiiittle later (late March-mid April) and you might even catch some cherry blossoms on your way over.

If you'd rather not book an entire Japan trip within a couple months, you can go for those autumn dates instead. Blood-red maples and bright yellow gingkos make the perfect background for a park picnic, complete with warm sake.

And lastly, there's a Pokémon art exhibit starting in April, if that sweetens the deal for you :-)

Note: There's some disparity in prices between these two seasons. The fares below are based on tickets for fall. Boston's fares are about $100 RT cheaper in spring, Austin's are about $130 RT cheaper in autumn, and Chicago's are about the same either way.
