Cambodia has you covered in the temple department. The rarely-so-affordable city of Phnom Penh is a bustling metropolis with seemingly more have gorgeous, peaceful temples than London has pubs.

They've got glittering white and gold palatial temples. They've got temples with lush manicured gardens. They've got ancient temples overgrown with greenery.

A little outside of town, they've even got temples in caves.

Now that we've said "temples" so many times that it stopped sounding like a word, let's talk about the mother of them all: the 8th wonder of the world, Angkor Wat.

While it's a bit of a trek from Phnom Penh, it's pretty accessible — even a private taxi is only about $80. And with 500 acres of ancient city to explore, it's well worth the journey :-)
