Look, Rabat is a pretty cool city! It's got those classic Moroccan historical sites we know and love, like the Kasbah of the Udayas, and the atmosphere is fantastic.

But if you spend your whole trip there, you'll definitely be missing out. Rabat is the perfect home base for day trips galore, each one better than the last.

First off, you've got Casablanca and Marrakech less than four hours away by car—they're the Moroccan heavy hitters. But there are a ton of other great places within driving distance, from quaint seaside towns like Asilah to the ancient Roman ruins at Chellah.
