The French Riviera in $860s-$890s RT

No one pulls off perfect winter weather quite like the French Riviera.

Nice makes it look effortless — sunny strolls along the promenade, pastel facades glowing in the light, and enough greenery to make you think you’ve accidentally landed in the tropics (minus the tropical storms). Add in a scattering of vineyards, olive groves, and citrus trees, and you’ll see why even Queen Victoria dreamed of returning on her deathbed.

Visiting in the new year means the Christmas dust has settled — giving you space to search for the best table and actually eat there, too.
