Been dreaming about ticking those jaw-dropping Sri Lankan train rides off your 2026 bucket list?

Last February, I went on a 10-day trip to Sri Lanka with my little sister. As major fans of train travel (and having seen how cool the Sri Lankan railway system is), we started looking at train connections.

So, how did it go? As you might imagine, not as planned.

We ended up travelling on many different trains and classes, and even tried some of the cutest pink bum guns.
