Eh-ehm, did you say epic viewpoint? Sure, you could go for a classic hike at Table Mountain — but for the real hidden gem, you'll have to make your way to Ghana.
In the Volta region, at the border with Togo, you'll find lush green hills, waterfalls, and the highest peak in the country, Mount Afadja.
The hike to the top is short but steep. You'll be going through Ghana's tropical forest, so expect humid conditions and mosquitoes while walking on the narrow dirt paths. And keep your eyes peeled… on a clear day, you can see Togo’s mountains in the distance!
The best part? After your hike, West Africa's tallest waterfall (only a 20-minute drive away) will be waiting for you to take a fresh dip :-)
