Oh hi Shanghai! You just got even cheaper than we saw last month.

And with all those savings, we've got some handy day trips for inspo:

• Nip to Nanjing, and check out the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, the resting place of the first Ming Emperor
• Head to Hangzhou, and sit by the West Lake as you taste some iconic Longjing tea
• Zoom to Zhujiajiao, the 'Venice of Shanghai', where their ancient Water Town dates back 1700 years

Or, stay in Shanghai to scale the third tallest building in the world.

Hungry yet? Xiaolongbao (XLB) are the local snack, so we'd recommend you find some. These soupy mouthfuls of deliciousness can be found all over the city, but Jia Jia Tang Bao often has a line out the door at 9am, so it's probably worth it to see what the fuss is about. FYI, winter in China can get a bit chilly, so pack a jacket. Or, just wait until you land and fill your suitcase at Nanjing Road, a whopping 5-kilometre-long shopping district.
