Munich in $490s-$530s RT

When people imagine the iconic, storybook version of Germany, they're usually picturing Bavaria: cobblestone paths and fachwerk houses, rolling green mountains and babbling brooks, and, of course, cozier beer halls than anywhere else on Earth. 

After all, it's this part of Germany that brings us both lederhosen and the pretzel!

You'll touch down in Munich, Bavaria's capital and main cultural hub. It's not a huge city, but definitely spend your first few days admiring the museums (and that rainbow botanical garden, if you visit in spring). Have some beer, have some ice cream, have some beer-flavored ice cream. When in München, right?

When you're ready to head out into that picturesque countryside, you really can't go wrong choosing any direction — but that showstopping castle fit for a Disney princess is pretty hard to pass up :-)
