Medellín, Colombia in $250s-$290s RT

Navigator Allan was in Medellín earlier this year, so when these terrific fares came across my desk, I knew who to ask for tips. Behold the travel wisdom of our team lead/Colombia guru:

• "El Penol is a quick day trip from the city and features the world's tallest rock with the world's tallest staircase (or at least it felt like it). It's also super cheap, with 12-hour trips hovering right around $30 USD per person."
• "The cable cars aren't just a tourist trap; they're vital transport for the residents of Medellín, so be respectful when you're on one. That being said, the ride to Parque Arvi is the longest and most scenic of them all, so I'd definitely start there."
• "El Poblado and Comuna 13 are the most tourist-heavy areas (and with good reason), but consider hopping on the only metro system in Colombia up to Plaza Botero too. You'll see plenty of those cool statues around."
• "You're going to write your own email, right? You won't be lazy and just quote me word-for-word, right? Jake? Right?"

Nothing beats the satisfaction of a job well done. Except maybe a good bandeja paisa :-)
