I like to highlight a different local business each time we send a Hawaii deal. After all, everyone already knows their beaches are perfection, and that the waterfalls are stunning, but...

...did you know there are over 100 different kinds of taro in Hawaii alone? This root vegetable is such a vital part of the islands' history and culture that the Hawaiian word for family ('ohana) comes from a word for taro ('oha).

And over 60 different kinds of taro are grown at Maui Nui! This five-acre botanical garden is dedicated to preserving native Hawaiian plants, along with the heritage they carry. Visitors can explore the grounds, or sign up for a traditional craft workshop that will send you home with a super unique, authentically Hawaiian souvenir.
