Even as it gets more popular, a city like Marrakesh still has secrets. There's always more to be seen among its bustling markets and twisting medinas.

As you poke around the city center, make a stop at the Museum of Music. The building, a restored riad tucked away in one of Marrakesh's oldest neighborhoods, can be a little tricky to find, but you'll be rewarded with a peek into Morocco's vibrant musical history.

And if the souks all start to feel a little too tourist-friendly, stop by Souk Cherratine for a more traditional experience—and some fabulous leather souvenirs. The nearby metalworking souk also maintains a non-touristy vibe, so leave plenty of space in your bags.

Finally, you can really get away from the crowds by splitting to any one of the sleepy small towns along the coast :-)
