Iceland at $589 RT

Step 1: Touch down at Keflavík Airport and immediately accept that sleep is optional in summer. Collect your bags, grab a car, and head east.

Step 2: Wait! Before leaving the area, stop for a soak in the hot springs of your choice. I recommend Sky Lagoon over the Blue Lagoon for a slightly more elevated experience, although the bright blue waters are tough to beat!

Step 3: Drive past endllesssssss moss-drenched lava fields. If you spot steam rising from the ground, you’re in the right place.

Step 4: Continue toward Þingvellir National Park, where tectonic plates are in the midst of the world's most dramatic (and slow) breakup. Your camera roll begins to suffer.

Step 5: Arrive at the mighty Skogafoss, stand in the thundering mist, and realize you've made it! Waterfalls aren't your thing? Aim for Diamond Beach, the Reynisfjara lava tubes or a nearby Iceberg Lagoon. Iceland is just chock-full of natural wonders :-)
