Ecuador in $240s-$360s RT

It's been about two years since we last sent these routes! We pressed pause on Ecuador a while back due to safety concerns, but those alert levels have since stabilized. You can check the US gov's current advice here.

That's great news for travelers, because Ecuador's combination of cheap flights + stunning landscapes makes for a pretty tempting trip. After all, not every country has a volcano so picturesque, they named an outdoorsy brand after it. 

Quito might be the capital, but these routes to Guayaquil are even more convenient — this is the best starting point for both Cuenca (charming UNESCO city with intricate architecture and a National Park for a backyard) and the Galápagos Islands (home to the famous finches and giant tortoises).
