Nairobi & Johannesburg
in €380s-€580s rtn
Two safari capitals, but what's the difference?
Jo'burg
Where to go: Kruger National Park is the most popular place to spot wildlife, but for fewer crowds, Madikwe Reserve is where you should head.
What to see: The Big Five, but in particular, look out for rare white rhinos.
When to visit: May marks the start of the dry season, so you'll have an easier time finding animals as they gather around waterholes.
Kenya
Where to go: Masai Mara National Reserve is ideal for year-round Big Five spotting, but Amboseli National Park has incredible views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
What to see: The Big Five are also found here, especially large prides of lions.
When to visit: During September to October, you can catch the end of the Great Migration. Plus, the first couple of months of the year are usually dry and less busy.
Bonus tip: 3 of us Flight Finders booked a safari last year through the website Safari Bookings. We found plenty of affordable options here and there was even a little wiggle room to negotiate the price further :-)
