Mexico City at $331 RT

If I had a nickel for every time the largest city in the Americas was located in this one specific part of Mexico, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice!

Centuries ago, before the current king-sized metropolis, before the Spanish, even before the Aztecs, there was Teotihuacan. Located just an hour outside downtown CDMX, this ancient capital was home to over 25,000 people in its heyday—between 1,500 and 2,000 years ago.

It's got pretty much everything you could want from city ruins: massive pyramids, gorgeous murals, and a whole bunch of temples, all connected by the ominously named Avenue of the Dead.

Speaking of the dead, did we mention these dates include Día de Muertos? :-)
