Chile in $500s-$630s RT

You could spend your entire trip in Santiago, admiring Spanish architecture, sipping on Chilean wines and having a fabulous time. But with the coast to the west and mountains to the east... and south... and north... there's plenty of directions to stretch out!

Up the coast in Valparaíso, you can get a taste of the bohemian life without getting too far from the city. This colorful town is built along the hillside and covered in street art, cocktail bars, and historic sites (like the home of a famous poet-turned-politician). It's so close you can do it as a day trip.

But for a longer adventure, it's hard to resist Torres Del Paine. It's quite the ways (though you can get there pretty cheaply with LATAM) but nothing beats those stark peaks and vibrantly-colored lakes. It's like a raw, wild paradise at the bottom of the earth.
