Cheap flights to Cairo? Sorted! Now let's talk facts...
Like many, Egypt held one of the top spots on my bucket list for yonks. And after visiting last year, here are a few tips I wish I'd known before travelling:
1) If you don't like hassle, book organised tours. Of course, you absolutely can DIY your own adventures to all the main sites, but if you want a carefree experience, a guide/tour is the best way to go.
2) Look up the prices of things before you try and negotiate. It can feel overwhelming if you don't have a reference to go off. So to avoid overpaying, it's best to look up what a fair price is beforehand—and don't be afraid to stand your ground.
3) If you're lucky enough to have a student card, bring it! You can get up to half price entry to many of the main attractions like the brand-new Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza Pyramids.
FYI, it's worth checking your local government's travel advice before booking, along with buying travel insurance for your trip.
