Bangkok in $860s-$900s RT

If you do a little research into the many, many temples of Bangkok, a few names come up over and over.

There's Wat Pho... Wat Arun... Wat David Beckham...

Yeah, you read that last one right!

The place is officially called Wat Pariwat, but its local nickname comes from a golden carving of soccer superstar David Beckham hidden among the usual Hindu deities. Mr. Posh Spice isn't the only modern figure at the temple, either—others include Pikachu, Superman, and a rather, uh, chesty representation of Mickey Mouse that we won't be linking in this G-rated email.

Pop culture references aside, Wat Pariwat is still an active place of worship, so make sure to behave respectfully :-)
