• Transiting through Dublin means you can clear immigration and security before you even step foot on US soil, meaning you can walk off the plane and out of the airport on the other side. 
• And finally, if you're a DIY-er at heart, you can save a cool £200 on some routes by booking your flight to the USA directly from Dublin, and then adding on a Ryanair flight before/after your return trip. Not a bad excuse to tack on a day or two in Ireland to your trip, either :-)
