Ready for Shanghai to turn pink?

The transition begins oh-so-subtly in early March. The temps begin to rise, the sun lingers in the sky a little longer, and the first blooms reveal themselves.

Another 2 weeks in, and you'll spot candyfloss-coloured clouds flowering from the branches overhead as you wander through the tree-lined city streets.

By the end of the month, follow the petal-dusted pavements to Gucun Park to witness the full display of blushing blooms. 

It's home to over 120 varieties of sakura trees, so arrive early if you wanna see them all. And by the time the midday blossom bloggers arrive, you can duck out and visit their quieter but equally spectacular crocus collection.
