Bogotá in $290s-$300s RT

Move aside, darts! Colombia has invented the world's greatest bar game.

It's called tejo, and, like all great ideas, it involves both alcohol and explosives.

The goal of the game is to toss a metal disc (the tejo) at a metal ring (the bocín) embedded in a clay-covered board about 20 yards away. The bocín is lined with little paper packets of gunpowder (mechas), so when you hit the ring with the disc, you'll definitely know it. It's almost like playing horseshoes, if the shoes exploded every time you hit the post.

There are tejo bars all over Bogotá, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to try it for yourself. A word of warning though—it might ruin our inferior American bar games for you :-)
