Lima in $380s-$400s RT from Tampa & Denver
A little dose of airline fun for you!
As the resident airline nerd in the office, everyone is always poking me and saying "Why are COPA's and United's logos soooo similar?" and I usually say, "Please, leave me alone, I am trying to do my job." But, just this once, I'll humor them.
COPA partnered with Continental Airlines in 1998. When that happened, COPA adopted Continental's branding to align their product with what US consumers already knew. Continental would later merge with United in 2010, and United also completely stole Continental's branding.
Continental would completely divest from COPA by 2008, but the Panamanian carrier kept the branding. And because United eventually took Continental's logo, these two airlines with little in common use virtually the same branding.
Take that knowledge with you as you walk the streets of Lima. I'm sure it'll be veeeerrry important :-)
