Nicknamed after the abundance of citrus groves dotted over the region…and possibly due to their fondness of massive ginger cats.
Thanks to over 200 km of forests and national parks, it's one of the few places on earth you can spot the endangered Bengal tiger roaming free.
There are a number of parks and sanctuaries to pick from, with Tadoba National Park being the oldest and largest. But as with all safaris, we'd advise researching tour operators beforehand to ensure they are prioritising animal welfare and actively contributing to conservation efforts.
