Be warned: Springtime in the Amazon really puts the "rain" in "rainforest."

But if you don't mind getting a little wet, the rainy season also unlocks a whole new part of the jungle. These flooded forests (called igapó in Portuguese) are only accessible by boat and showcase a wilder, eerier side of the Amazon. They're also great places to spot some rarer critters, so keep your eyes peeled for river otters, manatees, pink dolphins, and even jaguars!

Besides, rainy days in the Amazon are a total vibe :-)
