Rome in £40s-£80s rtn from Bristol

"This is almost an exact replica of my first-ever solo trip abroad, many years ago. Departing from Bristol, in the depths of winter, heading for Rome. I was 50% excited, 50% terrified.

Having recently turned 18 and not knowing much about the world, I was optimistic that Rome would be a good place to start—it'd worked out well for Lizzie McGuire, after all. 

Spoilers, it was amazing! Everything was signposted, there were plenty of helpful people to point me in the right direction, and I even managed to tackle the metro—without mobile data!

Of course, there were a few learning curves...don't forget a coat...don't take pics of the Creation of Adam and always watch out for scooters.
