*non-stop* Williamsport, PA
at $98 RT from Washington
Are you ready to learn some fun airplane facts?
We know your answer was no, but we're doing it anyway. The Essential Air Service was launched in 1978 to connect rural Americans and major cities on routes that would otherwise be unprofitable for a business (like an airline).
The program stills exists today, and it's the reason places like Presque Isle, Brainerd, & Eau Claire have any scheduled air service at all—the government says they have to.
Williamsport, Pennsylvania was on that list for a while. But, in 2012, they lost the status and after a decade of fighting to get their flights back, they just took off this month from DC.
And now they're taking off from deal land! Southern Airways Express is flying the route twice a day on a Cessna (a plane that only carries a max of 19 passengers), so you'll also be getting there on one of the coolest rides in the sky.
And as for things to do in Williamsport ... Little League Baseball, little league baseball and more little league baseball, the World Series of which these dates conveniently cover :-)
Taking off ✈️
