Portland, Oregon at $197 RT

Portland's quite the underrated fall destination. Between the stunning foliage of the Japanese garden (pictured in the header above) and the myriad of spooky events, the gothic autumn vibes are rampant around here. This is a city that has multiple horror-themed bars that are open year-round, so you can imagine how hard they go for Halloween!

And although the autumn dates are the big star here, a visit in December comes with its own joys. PNW winters have a reputation for being a little dreary, but I actually love them. They're the perfect backdrop for cozy cafes and light reading. Stop by Powell's, then enjoy one of the best coffee scenes in the country.
