Medellin, Colombia
in $250s-$360s RT
I spent 4 days in Medellin earlier this year, so here are my handpicked recommendations for what to do there:
- Stay in El Poblado—it's super touristy, but for good reason. The boutique hotels are beautiful, the restaurants are the best in the city (shoutout Mamasita Medallo), and the tree cover brings some much-needed tropic shade.
- Take a day trip to Guatape & El Peñol—most tours are only around $30-$50 a person, and you get to see some of the best views this side of the Amazon.
- Get out of the city and into nature—we had an 11 PM flight out of Medellin, so we chose to make it a day in nature. Whether it's the boisterous botanical garden or the peaceful Parque Arví, take a break from city life and take things suave.
And one bowl of boniato, too, please :-)
