Puglia? No! Been there, done that. 

We're hopping over to the other side of the boot, AKA the 'toe'. Yep, it's about time Calabria got its moment in the spotlight. 

While it's definitely harder to reach than other areas of the country, hiring a car pays off with absolutely gorgeous beaches at your fingertips (and in October, it'll still be warm enough to swim!). Plus, there will be waaaay fewer tourists than you'd find in places like Monopoli or Polignano a Mare.
