Pick any Hawaiian topic, and you can probably read about it here — they have everything from folklore compilations to recipe books to collections of indigenous art. Instead of buying that gift shop lei, you could learn how to make one yourself. 

It's a great place to start if you want to dig into Honolulu's melting pot history, and you're sure to find your perfect vacation beach read... if you're able to look away from the view long enough to read at all.
