Cancún & Tulum
in $260s-$360s RT
This is one of those destinations that really just sells itself. You already know Cancún: perfect beaches and tasty cocktails, punctuated by some of the most famous ruins in the world.
So today, we're gonna spotlight an overshadowed part of the region!
Between downtown Cancún and the strip of land called the Hotel Zone, you'll find the Nichupté — 7,400 acres of mangrove-lined lagoon. Due to its position as a sort of mixing pot for other bodies of water, it's got quite the array of wildlife, including rays, turtles, frigatebirds, and even crocodiles.
There are plenty of ways to see the lagoon, ranging from clearbottom kayak tours to upscale sunset cruises, but you might not want to go for a swim — legend says you'll turn into a mermaid :-)
