Baja California

Little-known fact: Baja California is more than just TJ and Cabo.
Crazy, right? But it's true! There are a ton of seaside pueblos like Loreto scattered up and down the peninsula, and they're a whole lot less touristy. If you prefer whale watching, relaxing canyon hikes, and watching the sun go down from a pristine white beach, then this may be more your speed.
Just make sure you can handle the chilly winter weather—we're talking temps that dip allllll the way down to... the 70s :-)
P.S. San Francisco and Portland are also getting flights to Cabo, so you guys can sample that killer nightlife if Loreto sounds too slow for you.
